And tell me how much of a fire hazard it is.

Seriously, ADT is giving me trouble over dealing with this.

To be fair to ADT, location looks dry.

The transformer is broken. It's literally broken.

They either fix it right or I killl everything, dispute charges, and call smith thompson for wireless sensor install and dual
Keypads.

No muss no fuss.

Not sure if it's own weight and the CATV cable not strapped to anything did it. Not fond of the plug in the light sticking out sideways vs up/down either.

I'm assuming the gear on the insulation is no big deal?

Fire hazard? Nah. Shoddy as hell and makes you question what other corners they cut? Definitely.

The broken power brick is the only really scary part from the pictures. Their fault for not attaching the cable. It probably got yanked at some point.

This seems kind of strange. Why is ADT installing MoCA cables/adapters? The top black box is CATV MoCA and that yellow box is a VOIP MoCA adapter. That stuff would typically be installed by a cable or satellite company.

Most of ADT's stuff is wireless or thin LV type wire that will run directly to their panels.

You're positive that's ADT's stuff?

That is who we have. Wifi is down stairs and we don't have cable.

Did ADT install cameras as part of their package? Those MoCA adapters basically let you send IP packets over the coax in your walls to devices like computers, phones, TVs, set top boxes, etc. Alarm systems don't use coax unless dealing with cameras and even then a MoCA adapter would be strange since most IP cameras these days are POE run over ethernet.

Unplug the transformer and see if the alarm panel starts beeping.

Yes, they added cameras for this upgrade.

Is it the Nest cameras they sell? Because those are wireless and also don't use coax.

Just unplug the transformer and see what starts beeping or shuts off.

It's their proprietary ones, if that's Nest. I'm traveling so it may be a day or two before I can test that.
