Fence came this color when we bought the house. Not my favorite, but...

Repainted some last summer with the Sherwin Williams stain below and I am not very satisfied with how the parts that get any sun have held up.

Os there something better?

Would rather spend whatever on quality and not have to repaint for as long as possible.

Come up with a color that you like/pick a color that you like and use the Sherwin Williams Semi-Transparent Superdeck product.

Sikkens Semi-Transparent stain, what the pros use. Expensive, but has micropigments that ensures even coverage. It is an oil stain rather than a latex stain. A latex stain can peel. There aren't many oil stains out there these days.

I stained my fence with the dark oak stain. If the wood is new, the dark oak stain is lighter, if the wood is older ( 1+ year), then it will go on darker. I plan to stain my porch posts tomorrow with it.

Since this is an older fence I am a little afraid it might look funny if I use a color that is not matched. I know the sw can says stain, but it is not very transparent to my eye.
