Not sure how to phrase my question but I am wanting to adjust an oven gas valve so that I can fit a larger (deeper) oven. I also have some countertop trim across the back that I would remove. See pics further down.

Am I way off base on this?

My current oven pictured is 24-3/4" deep. The gap at the back is 2-1/2" so I would essentially need to tidy this area up just to accommodate a 26-3/4" deep new oven and maintain the same amount standing proud of the front of my cabinets.

I had to have mine moved during a renovation. I would assume your situation is common enough for at least a YouTube video to exist on the matter.

YouTubing it now. Looks like slicing the drywall and relocating the elbow down towards the floor would be the easiest option, just making sure this makes sense!

That's what they had to do on mine. The new sheet rock had already gone up, but they cut it, lowered the connection closer to the floor, and refinished the sheetrock that they cut.

As mentioned above, open up sheet rock and move it down. You can also recess part of the fitting.
