I got Hunter Oakhurst 52" and it is very slow at the highest speed. I have the same fan in 3 other rooms and they are all below acceptable when it comes to speed. They have been that way since I installed them brand new.

If there is no way I can fix it, I want to replace the bedroom fans with a better one. Any reco a fan brand? How is Honeywell?

I bought this one and like it.

I actually have 2 and they have been working great.

Any chance you have a speed-select wall switch? If so, the cord/chain and/or remote settings need to be at the highest value for the wall switch to work properly. Hell, I'll bet on some models, if the cord and remote aren't coordinated, it could do the same.

I agree with this. I've never had any fan, much less a Hunter not be screaming fast. To have all three being poor points to an external issue.

I searched your Hunter model. The reviews on the fan are crap. Also it you aren't alone with the speed issues.
One example from the Hunter site:
"After installation, I regret that I could have checked the reviews before the purchase or at least prior to installation. RPM and Airflow even for High speed is very low, and as someone said earlier the Slow and Medium speeds are VERY slow, and literally non-usable."

The Hunter fans to buy are the Hunter Original. The same beefy components they used back in the day. You even have to pour oil into them. amazing

Check this first. I had this problem as well.

How's the light? In the bedroom we use it as the lighting also. That is why I have this one currently which performs poorly as a fan but is good with light.

I have an on-off switch and a remote control and a chain control to determine speed. The switch is on, chain is on highest and the remote control is on "High".
Is there something else I need to do?

Customer care is worthless.

Funny story:
I bought a Hunter Oakhurst from Home Depot 3 years ago. After 12-13 months the motor started making grinding noises and I was afraid it might catch fire. There was a burning smell as well. So I called Hunter, they refused to do anything as the warranty passed. They were somewhat rude about it and were not helpful at all and after much cajoling said at most they could give me 10% to buy a new Hunter product. Nice.

So I got pissed too and went to HD and bought a new Hunter fan. Replaced the bad motor with the new one, put the bad motor into the box and returned it to HD and told them the fan was faulty and was not working (so that they don't put it back and sell it to someone else). Now HD will return it to Hunter as defective and Hunter pick up the costs. They could have avoided all this by working with me.

Hunter could have made me happy as I have 4 Hunter fans but they decided to be snarky. The fan now works but is not satisfactory. As you say maybe the model itself is bad.

Also I want to add that I am okay with paying more for a good product that works - not looking for cheapest option.

I've found any fan with built in LEDs has terrible light output. If you need light, go with a fan like you showed with replaceable bulbs

Yes, I don't like built in either. If it blows then the entire thing becomes useless. I can always replace a bulb.

I faced this with my 2 solar powered LED light fixtures outside the house. I had 3 and one blew out at the garage area so I had to move the one from the front door to the garage and buy a new one for the front door.

Dang. It's likely not that, then, but I would at least cycle through other settings on the remote and pull chain, and even engage the reverse-switch (not while running) to see what happens. For instance, if you move the chain to medium, and the remote to high, does it run slower? Vice Versa, does it act the same? Etc. It may do nothing, but worth trying.

Just spitballing - 3 other things to check:
- Run Capacitor could have failed. Usually they puff out when they fail.
- If you can remove the receiver for the remote control. The electronics are typically junk. Not sure how it's wired in, but it's often in line with the incoming power
- If you have voltmeter, check for low voltage? As BrazosDog02 allude to, all three fans having issues at least makes you question external factors.

Light is so so, we have 4 recessed lights so we don't rely on the fan light, but it does have various light temps ouncan switch between.

They probably make them in China now. My father still has Craftsman tools from the late 60s and I saw them all my life. When I got my own in 1998 I got the same type and I still have my tools. I am told they now make them in China.

Current Fan

Max. Airflow (CFM): 2038

Fan I am considering to buy:
Honeywell Ceiling Fans Quick-2-Hang - 52-in
https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-Ceiling-Fans-Glen-Alden/dp/B00KGKEXUM/ref=sr_1_1_sspa
Quote:

Air Flow Capacity (CFM): 5459

CFM = Cubic Feet per Minute. This determines the volume of air it can push through.
I am an engineer but I neglected to look at the specifications. I just looked at the blade span. My current fan has a very low CFM of about 2000. The Honeywell I am looking at is about 2.5X of that.

This table says what I need. I estimate (will check today) my bedroom size is about 300 sq ft. A fan with 2000 CFM is for a very small room.
