Not naming names, but 40% of the people that live in my house are batting damn near 1000 on their ability to clog toilets.

I hear "Dad, toilets clogged!" more than I hear "Dad, I love you!"

It's quite remarkable really.

Mrs Cjo won't let me put a honey bucket outside so I need to get some more powerful thrones inside.

Any recommendations here?

Just get 'em a "poop knife".
And/or hide to TP and make them use a rag.

Similar story a few months ago. Finally, plunging didn't work. Tree root broke through drain pipe.

I cried when our bath remodel ala handicap friendly trashed our elongated 7-gallon flusher that never clogged (except that one time - stuffed toy!) so maybe at the dumpster you might pickup something illegal like this, install, then wait for the Federal Toilet Police to come put you away?

Consumer Reports usually tells who flushes the best and I remember TOTO was once king of the sewage.

The no-brainer, never clog was discvoered at Disneyworld. However jet engine loud it may be, it compresses incoming water while sitting in the tank, then WHOOOSH when flushed, exactly like commercial/hospitals/etc. "flush valves" that have no need of a tank.

We've been in our house on Lake Livingston almost 2 years. We have 3 toilets that get used fairly often. The only clogs we've had have been caused by my now 14 year old granddaughter. After the second time, she got a lesson in using the plunger.

Make them dig it out by hand to learn to stop using half a roll of tp each trip.

I've had to instruct adults in my house not to flush baby wipes or tampons after we had clogs, one of which flooded the entire bath and adjacent hallway within a month of remodeling. Some people think toilets are magic blackholes for the disappearance of all trash, rather than a low-slope pipe intermittently partially filled with water.

I've got nothing to add on product line.

We started giving our clog offending tween son fiber supplements at breakfast everyday and instead of his giagantor poops that clogged a toilet once a month he started having to go 2-3 times a day which dramatically decreased the frequency of clogs. He is also permanently required to double or triple flush.

these kids are regular..
eat healthy..
still 2 clogged toilets a day..
it's typically the courtesy flush pre-TP that does it..
unfortunately, i get to see exactly how much TP is used and it's not the TP volume.

they just friggin' poop like elephants every single day.

do those pressure assist use electricity?? i need to look into those.

Very interesting. I've never heard of a pressure-assist toilet.

Without knowing more, I'd hesitate to buy one. Just some quick research describes them being useful for older cast iron systems where they pipes aren't as slippery as PVC drains. Also, they use even less water - so they may work for nearby clogs, but are they more susceptible to clogging downstream, when the material slows down? Especially since you're dealing with.... large material.

I've always been leery of pressurizing PVC drains, too. They're not designed for it. But people often pay inspectors to do pressure testing, and I've always heard people plunge toilets incorrectly (trying to push instead of creating suction). Supposedly, this can push glued joints apart and create a really bad situation. Not to say pressure-assist wouldn't work, but I'd be asking those questions about it.

they're equal opportunity poopers - all 4 of ours (which are the same, 2 year old home), both at my folks house back in Texas, the powder bath at friends houses that we frequent..

some day they may be on TA and this thread may get bumped and they may be embarrassed... sorry kids... but everybody poops and this $#!+ is getting out of control.

i may try putting a pressure assist in one of our toilets and see how it flows.

FWIW, we had four American Standard Champion 4 toilets in our previous house and really liked them. They have most powerful flush I have seen, sans the pressure-assist types like they have at airports. However, the American Standard Champions can be finicky to setup correctly so that you get the max flush most of the time. I like to tinker with things, so I didn't mind it much. Others hate that aspect.

In our new house (just moved in a few months ago), we decided to go with Toto Ultramax II. So far, so good. It has a very consistent flush, but I doubt it is equal in force to the American Std Champion. I like that that NuFlush has some 'hop-up' parts to increase the water vol/flush, but I haven't felt the need for such (yet!). There is a lot of room in the tank for more water, so it is tempting…

Good luck and happy flushing!

Install a Sloan Flushmate system in your existing toilet. Basically a power flush system. We've had this in our "main" toilet for about 15 years. Works great with no issues or clogs.

Did they have a spring loaded button on top of the tank to flush? That's what they had at the Disney Hotel when we stayed there in the early 90s. Sounded like a jet engine spooling up. I was amazed by it when I was 10-11, and haven't come across anything similar since.

I don't really understand some of y'all.

The kids have giant poops!!! It's not TP.

My older son ****s are like 1 log that is 5-8 inches long and 2-3 inches thick. Biggest turd I've ever seen in my life.

He clogs the toilet almost every time.

It's just biology his turds are big.

I would use green gobbler. You have something else going on. May be the volume. Would not hurt.

Not your issue, but issues further down the line are caused by the lack of water volume flowing through the lines. Nobody takes baths, low flow showers, no washing machines filled to the top - all lead to less water flowing through the line. Always good to fill the tub every so often and let it drain.

I'm gonna do him a favor and take a picture of my kids poop and post it to this thread.

I never believed turds alone could clog a working toilet... You too will be a believer.

I put new Kohlers in my house after my 3 year old kept clogging every 25 year old toilet in the house. I've only had to plunge once in the last 3 years. My plumber thought that I had a calcium build up and it was restricting the water flow so it wasnt coming out fast enough to rocket the boys mega turds out of the bowl.

Toilets don't last forever. Many have a date stamp on the inside tank lid. If it's in the 90s or below you should upgrade.

My 7 year old clogs ours, with poop only, and the toilet is on main floor with basement below, so the toilet drops into a 6" pipe or whatever size, and falls down ~10' before going horizontal underground.

It amazes me that it can clog.
