I have a metal shop that has standard white commercial 10x10 non-insulated garage doors. I am going to partition off a portion of the shop by adding a wall and spray foaming this enclosed area to make a man cave/game room area. This area will be heated and cooled. My plan was to change out the 10x10 plain white garage door with a 10x10 all glass garage door that would allow for more natural light and could be open when weather permits.
In a perfect world I would like to get either double pane or insulated glass but these doors are crazy expensive. I can purchase just a single pane all glass door for a price that while high is within budget so I am thinking about pulling the trigger but then again I don't want to regret the purchase. The garage door faces the east so it will get the morning sun but most of the afternoon/evening it will not have any direct sunlight. I don't want the windows to always have condensation or suffering major energy loss where I should have just bit the bullet and got a better product. Then again most garage doors are not sealed that well around the edges anyways so paying for better glass may be a waste of money considering the other energy losses around the rest of the door.
Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
