How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am searching for a GC or builder in Brazos County that is willing to request multiple competitive bids from suppliers and subs. There will be three residential structures built on location with an expected cost of 2Mil+. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

You should get lots of replies, as this can be SOP upon request, so long as you listen to who they recommend and why, regardless of bid.

Usually this is even easiler if you are electing a Cost+ Contract and not forcing them to take the lowest bid in every case. Low ballers can actually cost everyone money ... long letter to follow upon request.

In fact, these days the supplier bids are so fickle, supplies come-go in hours, many home builders that stiff-armed Cost+ are now forced to deal only in that way.

Thinking that with $2mil on the line, the investment might warrant The Best as hgihest priority.
Seeking those that botherd to get a Construction Mgt degree, interned as hand-on workers and earned top reviews, BBB accolades, etc. would be the way I would direct my clients ... with a few noteable exceptions.

Lastly, if your guy is busy/distracted by spec.houses, too much work and banks wanting their interim loan payments, YOU might not get all the attention you paid for these pre-sold projects.

You may email me for specifics & Google has my address. Topics can be residential or golf.

Not fully understanding your question. Are you looking for someone to bid & build your project or are you looking for someone to solicit bids from firms who will then build your project (as in a knowledgeable consultant)?

Some builders will only solicit bids from their ONE fav plumber or HVAC, etc. as well as fav suppliers.
Since these are the prime sources that drive the final bid (much more than General P&OH), it seems he rightly objects to such a practice, considers this to be SOP and looking for a maverick or two (General - Homebuilder) that will shop a bit harder.
