Agreed that today's garden/etc. help is 1/2 the time NOT as tenacious nor keen on repeat business as those of old. Maybe all this has root in being an employee, not an Owner/family of the biz. Maybe a long shot is the fear of doing damage to a poorly installed bibb, cheap hose, etc. for which they might be blamed and then paying for replacement/repairs.
The latter has been common when crews come to help with things out of reach & too big for me. It's best to turn a blind eye to the minor damage to: driveway plant, roof ridge vents, outdoor floods and the list goes on. Me not perfect, either.
Then the weatherman's last minute changes has ME working with hose bibbs due to "surprise" freezes adds to the hassle.
Finally I decided to endure the slightly less water pressure that comes with the no-sweat/hassle Quick Connects.
I even grease them with ... anything ... so on ... off ... presto ... chango in mini-seconds. The styrofoam igloo freeze hoods sit nearby at the ready most of the year.
