Need to have mine disconnected so I can pour concrete then reconnect the next day. Anyone done this before and have a ballpark cost? In DFW if an AC guys want to chat.

All that freon/puron waste/expense unless they can capture/can/reuse 100% of it.
Watching this thread to LEARN costs, if you get any.

Too bad the lines aren't long/flexible enough to
find a forklift, so concrete labor can work under it.

If the HVAC is sitting on a concrete pad, one might pour concrete flatwork around it
and the pad might become more stable than ever before, thus not needing to move anything?

Guessing like this will come without photos to guide alternate solutions ... until you get a price and then begin searching for some.

Guess is 1000-2000 depending on how busy they are and how hot it is.

Any decent AC guy can recover the refrig.

I'll wager $500 at the cheapest. It's a trip to disconnect and another to reconnect after the pad is poured. You're probably looking at least $250 min per trip.

Tropic air in Arlington used to do ours for $650 same situation. However we gave them other work as well.

I got a quote for $600 but wasn't sure if that was fair. Sounds like it's just fine.

FIFY. It can't just be vented and released. I mean it can technically, but no hvac shop worth a **** would do it.

Right. That was more in response to the above statement, "All that freon/puron waste/expense unless they can capture/can/reuse it."

They can pump most of the refrigerant into the compressor and then close valves, remove, reinstall, vacuum, open valves, add some refrigerant to the proper pressures, and done!
