I have some spots that need work but made the mistake many years ago of getting rescue grass and other big box seeds. Short of sodding fresh, i wanted to fill in some bare spots with seeds after prepping the surface. I didn't want to use run of the mill seeds but rather a more premium seed. I've see Tifgreen, Princess77, Jackpot, etc but don't know what works in the north Dallas area. Has anyone done this?

Last year I cut down a bunch of trash trees, making large patches of my yard go from full shade to full sun. At the end of the month I plan on seeding these areas with this bermudagrass seed. I think with the right prep work and lots of sun and water it should look pretty dang good.

ETA FYI I received the seed in the mail about 3 days after ordering it online.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for.

Anyone else have experience with this?

If you can find seed mat with just bermuda seed, I would try that. It works well for patching areas.
If you can't find it with bermuda seed, try to get some plain matting to put over your seed. It really helps retain water and keep seed moist.
