Laying down 1/2" OSB on top of existing 1/2" plywood subfloor that I just patched.

80 year old pier and beam home.

Should I glue the OSB down and nail it, screw it, don't use glue?

Other than switching to 5/8" or 3/4" tongue and groove, which I recommended, the owner is taking the budget route and I'm looking for a recommendation.

Combining my engineer + The Money Pit opinions with mine:
Glue
Screw through ply into joints

IF no screws then ringshank nails

IF no ringshanks then glue tipped deck nails

prefer all above to be anti-corrosive

I assume Owner will not spring for waterproof OSB ....

Best practice is to use both subfloor construction adhesive and screw directly into the joists.

Glueing and screwing subfloor sucks donkey balls! Got 1/2 of it done today.

NOT looking forward to tomorrow.

Are you using an impact driver or a drill to sink them?

AGREED
When I had 850sf of outdoor deck to do, I elected glue-tip screwshanks in a compressor nail gun
& knee pads.
Repairs get deck screws via Ryobi impact driver
but if this took up more time, I might want this screwgun for a Bday

Glad it's almost over
