Howdy Ags!

Need a little help on HVAC for my shop.

Details
Moore County Texas (Region 2)
No windows
2 standard walk through doors
2 overhead doors
Spray foam insulation 4" on roof and 2"on walls
3600 sq ft with 14' sidewalls

I have plenty of capacity in my breaker box (200 amp service)
Can install propane tank for heat if more cost effective

I only want to keep the shop 80 in summer and 60 in the winter while I'm in it.

Thoughts from the pros. I'd prefer Mini split set up, but am open to all thoughts

Would a mini split be able to cool that much space?

Running a simple manual J online it seems 55000 btu would cover it but that assumes windows and I'm sure a temp closer to 75 consistently.

That's why I'm uncertain of what to do here. If a mini split could work, I could do most of the work and have ate h come finish it (my usual channel for help on these things went away with a divorce of my wife's best friend).

North of Amarillo location & OH doors air infiltration potential
makes my vote for Propane heat very solid
.... the rest I leave to those in-the-know, in-the-biz
Ten words or less ... a goal unattainable

Depending on how the large doors are insulated I have heard of some going closer to 900-1,000 sq ft/ton on full mini splits lately. 600 used to the be the average. I haven't personally designed anything on that end of the spectrum but have heard back from my distributors that many are beginning to with closed cell.

Would make a world of difference at 3.6 tons just not sure I'm 100% comfortable with the new systems they are touting can go to 0 F without freezing up and limited defrosts due to variable compressors and fans in synch for head pressure control.

55k btu is about 15 btuh/sqft. which in my opinion is to light especially with a garage door if that is for heating.

if that's for cooling that's 785 sqft/ton which is also on the high end.

for heating you would need 25-30 btuh/sqft

i would run around 500 sqft/ton.
