Would this type of fence be considered corrugated and any guesses on cost vs wood? Probably looking at ~300 feet.

1st call would be to a metal roofing company, sending them photos
perhaps they can refer you to a metal fence post company & work out the post/attachment spacings
that many give you a cost idea

Good idea on the roofing company. This was a fence at a vrbo we stayed at in Palm Springs. No HOA to worry about. We would also likely be paying for all of it and would need neighbors to be OK with it. Just not sure about that kind of outlay given we're probably out of here in a couple of years.

Thats a nifty looking fence--how did this work out? How much did it cost? Were the neighbors ok with it? In my neighborhood it would not go over well, but it would sure keep out the riff-raff

Metal mart, pioneer, mueller and hilco have that and many others including different colors

Fencing using this material gets real tricky when you have lots of sloping ground. You'll have lots of step downs leaving openings at the bottom that will need to be filled in. PITA and lots of metal cutting with extra posts needed to screw the roofing panels to.

We haven't pulled the trigger on it. Those pics were from a vrbo we stayed at in Palm Springs. We are in north central Austin and the original wood fence we put in 10 years ago is kind of ghetto. They didn't set posts deep enough for our shifting clay soil. The thing is, we would have to cover entire cost and we are out of here in two years.

Why completely change the fence if you are leaving in 2 years?

Metal prices are still high and this won't be inexpensive.

If I only had 2 years left in a house I would only replace the posts I needed to so the fence looks passable. You won't get your money back out of a new metal fence or even a new wood fence especially with 2022 prices.

That's pretty much where we stand right now. Rentals on one side and back so we are likely going to blow it off.
