What do you use to spread fertilizer?

I used to use this:

It did the job, but the shaft between the axle and the "flinger" broke last week when I hit a root. Was never a fan of the plastic wheels anyway. I did like the little edgeguard that prevents me from slinging fertilizer into the pool and creating a nightmare there. I generally buy the cheapest option on stuff like this and then upgrade when it breaks, but there seem to be tons of bad reviews on all of the more expensive spreaders. Just have a regular <1/4 acre yard, so anything tow-behind would more trouble than it's worth. Should I get another cheapo, or upgrade to something metal with non-plastic wheels? Any recommendations for less than $200?

I was gifted one of the scotts ones that worked with their 'snap packs'. I don't like scotts, so I bought one snap pack, used it and slit the bag at the top to use as a hopper. Been good for 6-7 years now, especially for free.

Lesco brand if you are local to a Site One and use them for sourcing your fertilizer.

for 1/4 acre i use this.

Scotts Whirl Hand-Powered Spreader, Brown/A, 1.5 M (N/A) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KMWVBJS/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_i_NWK30NQXWYK87WYFKJNS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Budget is $200 though. Cheapest Lesco is $300 and their 80lb spreader is now $600 which is ridiculous.

Yeah but this is TexAgs. So somebody has to throw the Cadillac of Spreaders out.

It's true. A good formula for TexAgs is

recommendation = $(suggested budget * 5)

I'm pretty sure if I wanted to know what hand saw people recommend, I'd end up buying a SawStop industrial cabinet saw.

Same Scotts rotary spreader but smaller, the 5000 sqft version. Holds less but also weighs less and is less likely to brake the plastic parts. Folds up and stores easy. Won't corrode if you rinse it out after use. Also I know that given most my bags are bought in 5k and 10k sqft then it is one pass in the front 5k and one pass in the backyard 5k.

I bought a Echo RB60, but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.
