How long do you want to ignore this user?
We're putting in an outdoor kitchen - about 10 feet of space that will have a sink, drop in cooler, grill, and side burner. My question is about the TV. The ceilings are 10 feet tall and I'm wanting to put a TV over where the grill will be. Is this a huge mistake and has anyone had a TV ruined because of grill placement?

would think a gas grill would be fine w the tv up high. not so much a smoke producing grill.

So, what is behind the grill? A wall? If not, how are you mounting the tv? If it is a wall, I would be concerned about heat from the grill. Need more details.

I would not usually recommend a tv directly behind a grill. Grease, smoke, and heat will definitely affect it.

We would be happy to provide you with a quote and design recommendations. We also have a full retail store with the best brands of equipment.

PM me if you would like further information.

Definitely do not put the TV above the grill

I think the problem would be you would need to position the TV higher than normal if its directly above the grill. If the grill is 4' from the ground you would want the TV atleast 3-4' above that. That is going to be a higher than normal and might look weird that close to the ceiling. If you can slide the grill over instead of centered it might look better and you can lower the TV down the wall some.

Do not put the TV over the grill. Some food you cook won't affect it, but if you plan on cooking foods such as burgers with high fat content, that grease/smoke will go right to the TV. I have light colored stucco above my grill and you can definitely see the dark residue on the wall where the TV would be from the grease/smoke.

When my son was in high school, he and his friends had a cook out by the pool one weekend. Between the high fat, cheap meat they bought and lack of experience, they had flames shooting out the back of the grill. More opening there than you think.
Sooted up the brick real bad and warped the vinyl soffit. A tv would have been doa.
Regardless of the flame, lots of heat and grease coming up the back of the grill.

Fyi, simple green and a stiff brush did good work on the brick.
