I have an almost 2 year old Samsung fridge. It can be noisy, but it's worked flawlessly.

I do not miss my old fridge peeing on the floor every 5 days.

That said, just about all appliances that the average person buys are crap. None will last.

I did see a review on a Frigidaire, it mentioned how the Frigidaire customer support told him that the doors on a French door fridge didn't need to be even with one another. The next time I was in Home Depot and Lowes, I looked at the Frigidaire models, not a one had doors that were level with the other.

If you get up to the Viking or Sub Zero, that may change the equation, but those are a little pricy to go in my house.

the doors have adjustment screws on top so you can make them level when you get home. As long as the gasket seals are set, being level is just for looks.

Have a 5 year Samsung Fridge (30.6cu French Door) - overall not very happy with it. Ice maker had always sucked (poorly formed "cubed" ice, slow, insufficient even for light use) and now it just doesn't work at all. Don't care enough to fix it. Fridge has always been noisy. Have had to repair once or maybe twice...weren't expensive repairs but still a hassle. I'll go with another brand next time, although I am sure they are all crap at this price level.

Also done with Samsung TVs - bought a top of the line 65in in like 2016. Still works but looks noticeable worse now. Suddenly just got what looks like unexplained light bleed and poor color after 3-4 years.

Just buy Whirlpool and call it a day. Perfect? Probably not. Most features? Certainly not. Constant headaches? Again, probably not. At least, not compared to many other brands.

Maytag is more hit and miss than they used to be. I had '80s era Maytag Washer/Dryer set when I was at A&M that was beyond solid. Survived several moves and never missed a beat. "Sold" them to a girl (who never paid me) and I'm sure she used them for years. That washer was a monster! But that's the era Maytag built its reputation on. The electronics on these things now aren't as solid but WP/MT are miles above many other brands.

IDK - read some bad reviews on Whirlpools. I've had that brand before and was considering it again. Design flaw associated with where they place some tubing. Eventually, the tubing breaks due to friction and you have a water leak. I think the door was pinching it, IIRC. There were multiple reviews complaining of this same problem.

Got the Samsung today. I absolutely love the fridge. The design is so functional, and it's HUGE. I would buy this fridge without the ice maker, it's that well designed.

Second attempt at delivery went very smoothly and the guys who installed it were very fast and professional.

Fingers crossed that this new ice maker design is improved.

Samsung Washer/Dryer purchased 9 years ago

Washer: slide out soap tray always dripped, so after your clothes were done, there would always bee some soapy water dripping on the fresh cleaned clothes. Also, the bar that the top door hinges on rusts, and causes rusty water stains. Surprisingly no electrical problems yet. The stabilizer bars/shocks have had to be replaced once. The unit constantly smells like mold despite always leaving the door open. I have to do a pretty serious cleaning on it per some youtube videos

Dryer: have had to replace the heating element 3x ,and some thermo sensor once. Not cheap repairs. Every repairman said to not buy Samsung.

I had a scratch and dent Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer set that lasted close to a decade after college. When they bit the dust, my wife picked out a matching Samsung pair (top loader washer). The washer is still going strong six years later but the dryer has been replaced with a Speed Queen. I could take that damn dryer apart, replace a part, and put it back together almost in my sleep. I replaced the heating element probably 3 times, replaced the wheels the drum spins on once, and replaced the belt.

We also had a Samsung fridge that lasted a day past the warranty. I called AMEX (they extend the warranty another year) and they said it wasn't worth repairing. Gave me a statement credit and bought another (non Samsung or LG).

I won't buy Samsung/LG appliances going forward.

In our old house, we put in new Kitchenaid appliances when we redid the kitchen (driven due to cabinet size and begin limited in large double oven models that fit). No issues at all. Had the double ovens, cooktop, and dishwasher. Only lived there a few more years afterwards but wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I need a fridge to replace a Samsung and can't seem to find anything around here that's not a Samsung so I'm basically not buying a fridge right now. Samsung refrigerators are absolute *****

Just took the hair dryer to my Samsung fridge icemaker for the biweekly thaw. I love spending 30 minutes of my time doing something they should have fixed years ago.

The wife is getting an upgraded hair dryer for her bday...now I'll have a dedicated fridge hair dryer! WIN WIN

Are you still liking this fridge? Costco has a version for a pretty good price and I am thinking about pulling the trigger.

I love it. No regrets at all. And even if the ice maker craps out, I'd still love it. The freezer storage/organization is fantastic.

What's the price? Samsung has it on sale for $2499. I'm trying to get $200 back, since it was "on sale" for $2699 when I purchased.

I either have extraordinary luck, or just low expectations.

65" Samsung Plasma TV from 2008 still going strong

Samsung Range from 2018 - no issues

LG front load washer and dryer from 2008- Have had to replace one of the water valves on the washer (replaced both while I had it apart), and a lint screen on the dryer, that's it

Samsung 4-door Flex Refrigerator from 2018 - This is the only one that has caused some headaches, but in the grand scheme of things, has maybe taken a cumulative total of 2 hours of my life to fix/address. Replaced ice maker per the TSB & sealed around the compartment. I take out the ice bin every 2-3 weeks to remove any ice build-up (2 min.). The ice maker supply line froze two weeks ago (first time for that). 15 min. with a hair dryer and it has been working like a champ since then. It's annoying, but until we move into a new/forever home that has a built-in fridge, it has more than met our needs.

$2399 for the SS version.

I think the ice maker has been completely redesigned from previous versions. What the poster above describes as "fixes" doesn't line up with the way the freezer is placed in the new units.

This reviewer is a friggin moron. It literally on the fridge we just bought tells you how to move them.

Just looked at your link from the last page. Yes, they have completely re-located the ice maker. Mine is in the top left of the refrigerator compartment and utilizes a through-door dispenser for both ice and water. I can't tell on your unit, but it looks like the water pitcher replaces the through-door water dispenser and the ice maker is now mounted in the top of the freezer compartment. I'm guessing there is no dispenser and instead you just pull the drawer out to get ice?

Hopefully that re-design addresses any issues. The additional storage space in the refrigerator compartment would also be a welcomed change.

Your description is exactly correct. We have an auto-filling water pitcher inside the left-hand refrigerator door.

The ice maker is in the top of the freezer. The whole shelf under the ice maker pulls out. It actually makes two different kinds of ice, and you can turn off one or the other (or both). We are only making the small ice, so the left hand side of the shelf under the ice maker is available for storage. I took the ice bin that was there and moved it to the fridge to hold produce.

I'm sure you're smarter than my wife, but don't throw that auto filling water pitcher in the dishwasher. And don't ask how much the replacement is, either. Assuming this is the same one with the cylinder to add lemons or whatever in the middle.

A month? Samsung would have had mine here in less than a week, had it not been for some unfortunate miscommunication with the local delivery service. Instead it took about a week.

Also, they are refunding me $200 plus tax since it went on sale even more.

This right here. None of our stuff matches outside of being stainless. Don't have a care in the world about it either. The only thing that was in the house when we bought it is the dishwasher though and I'm about ready to replace that.

Samsung fridge is on year 4 and going strong. Ice maker frozen over once and as long as that doesn't become a trend i am happy enough with it, especially since it was basically free due to repeated delivery issues by lowes.

Buy cheap ugly washer dryer set. Seriously this new stuff looks nicer, but doesn't not clean or dry better and when it breaks it's a throwaway.

This. Ours are the old school ugly white top loading kind and they are built like brick ****houses. My wife who does a TON of laundry doesn't even want to think about looking at recent junk.

To get our fridge delivered it took something like 8 attempts and 2 times were due to a damaged delivery and the rest were the company no showing after being told the day before they would be there. I was absolutely livid by attempt 3 or 4 because as you know, you have to make your schedule revolve around theirs. In the end my fridge was essentially free which was great. That combined with my Lowes card being used fraudulently something like 15 minutes after I applied and got approved added to the horrible experience. Saved a couple grand though so in the end I guess it was worth all the headaches.

Don't get me started on Lowe's. I was NOT happy with them after the installation of my Bosch dishwasher.

The fridge delivery went fine once they got it to my house. The guy who installed it was super nice and respectful. He did not seem surprised that I had trouble with the delivery company and their schedule, though.

I love this fridge more every day that I have it. The design just works for us. Definitely a great investment.

A note about the counter depth for anyone thinking about this fridge: the door hinges stick up quite a bit above the top of the unit. They are about 11 inches deep, so if your cabinet isn't taller than the hinges, that's how much the unit will stick out.

The counter depth is exactly the same height, so if the hinges can't clear your upper cabinet, the fridge will stick out the same amount as the regular sized one, you'll just have a gap between the back of the unit and the wall (and about 6 cubic feet less space).

With that said, this fridge actually fits better in my cut-out than my old one because there are no handles protruding out. That makes it look smaller and so much more streamlined.

6-yr old Samsung washer just started going out on me. It is the huge 6.5 cuft model which they don't make anymore.
I know exactly what is breaking, have half taken it apart but can't get the bottom nut off the motor. Impact driver nor drill will budge this thing.

Called an appliance guy and he said don't even bother. Part - which is just a plastic clutch - is over $300 delivered (not available in Houston) and another $200+ in time to fix. And that is if everything goes right, often something is seized up where they give up or it gets damaged even worse. Even he recommended to just buy new, so ordered the biggest, highest ranked (from CR) LG I could get....

I married into this Samsung, will never buy another of their products. Fridge in a previous life was a complete POS that I fixed myself 3 times.
