I had sails up, but instead of facia they put in 2x6s which is what I anchored the sails to with eye bolts.

It'll be fine. My suggesting is putting a stainless carabiner on the end of the sail's rope and booking it to the eye hook and not tying the rope to the hook.

Basically what I did. Used these stainless kits and it's easy to out up when needed and take down after. If you use a triangle like I did, label the corners with a sharpie so you aren't guessing what goes where (different dimensions on various sides).

For those of us with no trees, what poles do y'all suggest? Metal in concrete? 4x4 bolted down?

I had trees but damn I pulled pretty hard in paracord with a 3-4 loop (like a pulley) to get it tight. A lot of force being exerted at what would be 12' high.

Imagine a pole would need to be pretty deep

Kicking around a big rectangle to go over the pool for July and August. If I anchored 2 corners into the posts of the patio cover, do you think these earth anchors would be strong enough to anchor the other 2 corners? I have a planter box behind the pool and can bury them 3' deep. Don't know if this will work, just kicking around ideas cause the pool was 93 degrees yesterday.
