Howdy! I know it has been discussed before but I'm looking at putting in a pool and am attempting to select the decking material.

The rendering had the SprayDeck, which looks great but I worry about it chipping with chairs, etc.

Alternatively, has anyone had stamped concrete with a non-skid, heat resisting sealer (if such a thing exists. I'm under the impression that stamped concrete would be less maintenance and more economical, however slip and heat are concerns.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Putting in a pool now. Instead of concrete decking we're planning to have artificial turf installed. May consider that as well as concrete. It's about the same price as brushed concrete, it is cheaper if you start adding stamping and coatings.

We did Travertine tile and then had an elevated area where we did composite decking

We have a natural stone coping and concrete paver deck around our pool. No slip issue at all. I have never noticed the deck to get exceptionally hot, but to be fair, we don't have small children with sensitive feet. A few years ago, we had a leak in the pool plumbing that ran under the deck. The repair people only had to pop out a few pavers and dig down to make the repair. Re-install was super easy. Luckily we did not have the added expense of cutting into the concrete deck and having to patch and match afterward. If we ever built another pool, I would 100% have a paver deck again. Good luck and have fun.
