My current "home improvement" project is selling quite a bit of furniture, art, and other items. A lot of the pieces are either antiques or higher end, so I'm not sure how much luck I'll have getting a good price through things like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

Anyone ever used a consignment store for stuff like this? There's a Home Consignment Center at The Rim Shopping Center (San Antonio) semi close to where I'm at. They take 50%, but I'm wondering if they'd help price things accurately and attract the right clientele to get things sold.

Try Still Goode. They are in your area and I had a positive experience

Second for Still Goode. Also, French Courtyard (on Robinson Rd, in the shopping center right before the intersection with Hanna Rd) has consignment pieces. Not as big a selection as Still Goode, but they get nice things.

You might try a piece online. When we downsized, we had great luck with the bigger, more expensive pieces but the stuff that was "cheap" had the normal no shows & ghosting.

I figured that people wanting the really good stuff were looking for it & knew the prices were fair.

Furniture is a mixture of more modern/contemporary pieces and older antiques. Art is all modern/abstract

What sites did you use? I wasn't sure if there are more "legit" ones than Craigslist.

Sounds like something a consignment store would at least take. Now I'm kind of curious for myself since that's sort of up my alley.

Over here we have a few stores that look kind of like an antique or consignment store, but they're for furniture, art, and things like that only. Might be worth looking into.

In Houston, look at The Guild shops on Dunleavy between Westheimer and West Gray. It's supported by the River Oaks Episcopal Church and is popular. Although, I imagine the virus has had some sort of impact.

Sorry for the late reply. Been down with the Covid. Ugh.

Back when we moved & did our big downsize, it was pretty much only craigslist. Now, I'd give fb marketplace a shot on a big item. We sell a lot of there & have decent luck.

I never bought furniture on Craigslist or Facebook, though I ordered recliners on Amazon. I waited for the sale and free shipping, so I could save money. One more reason I chose Amazon was that most thebestreclinersreviews I looked through had links to the prices exactly on this site. As we need to furnish our house, I'm glad trhat I've found this topic. Thanks for sharing your experience and links.
