My two car garage door doesn't have the easily replaceable bottom seal (the U shaped rubber kind that slides into two grooves, but I'm needing a thicker seal. It appears my seal is attached directly to the metal frame bolted to the door.

Anyone replaced the bottom of their door like this? Most replacement pieces at Lowes, online, etc. are geared more towards the easily replaceable rubber U shaped pieces. I found a couple boltable brackets on Amazon, but thought I'd ask around first.

Just helped my neighbor a few weeks ago replace his. He bought a kit online that has a metal bracket you attach to the bottom of the door and then slide the new runner gasket in it. You remove the old gasket, attach the new bracket to the bottom with the supplied screws and then install gasket.

Unfortunately the screws provided with his kit were really wood screws so I replaced them with metal self tapping screws instead. Worked great!

I have the same issue. Any chance your door is an older Amarr?

Yes, it was similar except that one appears to actually have the correct sheet metal screws!
