Figured I'd just drop this nugget in case it ever surfaced through a search or someone else.

You can, in fact, mix hot water tanks with different faucet manufacturers. Information is hard to come by, so let me quickly point out:

The Insinkerator Hot tanks have 3 ports, an input, output, and a breather tube. The breather tube is normally supposed to go up to their own 4 port faucet. This faucet port will, my understanding, allow the expansion tank to trickle water into your sink through their faucet. My issue with this is: any of their non-standard dispensers can be $300-$400 which is excessive imo.

We bought a $75 polished nickle Whitehaus faucet that was on sale, but it only had 3 connections whereas the Insinkerator tank had the open breather/expansion outlet. I connected that tube directly to my drain under the sink with a small 1/4" brass connector that I thread into the plastic pipe w/ sealant.
