Surely I can't be the first bloke to run into this, so looking for an easy workaround to a seemingly significant PITA that I've run across.
The main drain cover(s) on our 2006 vintage pool have reached their end of life. My assumption that this would be a simple $8 plastic replacement part is proving to be quite the runaround due to the fact that they are the flat design which is now ILLEGAL. I completely understand the logic behind the change, but why there isn't a simple replacement with the same screw hole placement/dimensions blows my mind. The Hayward family must own multiple islands around the world.
So... before I go to custom fabricating a bracket to fit, who has a simple fix for this?? Bootleg is not outside of my scope. TIA
