Fireplace Gas starter issue?

I'm this year I have this flame coming out of this piece st the beginning of the starter. Is this an issue?

You need to clean the pipe. Looks like the holes are clogged.

Use a shop vac for all the ashes.

I quit using my gas starter this year because it seemed like the flame wasn't hot enough to actually start the logs on fire unless I let it run for 20 minutes.

Switched to these and I have a full fire in 5 minutes.

I use the Duraflame Quick Start Firelighter product from Home Depot for $14.98. The box contains 24-packs of 4.5 oz. firelighters that I easily break up into 4 pieces to start 4 individual fires. Therefore, 96 starter pieces at $14.98 equates to approximately $0.16 per; which is cheap and works great!

The elbow is cracked but where it is "shouldn't" be a problem.

If you want to replace it be careful not to create a leak inside the wall.

If you are asking what I would do I'd clean the ashes out, spray the crack with brake cleaner, brush it out, respray and hit it with some JB Weld.
