We just had new Bermuda sod laid at our new build house about 1.5 weeks ago. It's dead in patches already and gets watered every morning. Should I put some kind of fertilizer down to help promote growth or is it still too new?

Totally new to this home owner stuff so take it easy if this is a dumb question.

Per the Texas expert...Neil Sperry
Quote:

Fertilize the new grass after the second mowing using an all-nitrogen food with half or more of that nitrogen in slow-release form. That first feeding should be at half the recommended rate. Then, one month later, fertilize at the recommended rate.

With this heat, you want to be watering it more than once per day

It needs to be wet quite a bit for the roots to break through and start molding to your actual substrate.

Yes. Put Zoysia on top of it.

Give it another couple of weeks of watering. Bermuda tends to stress and brown in heat when newly laid but will recover given time.
