New construction house with built in dog kennels in the laundry room. Each kennel has two sliding doors, one of which on each kennel will be immobilized. Currently the doors are just an open frame. We are planning to attach panels from a 6 gauge wire kennel to the doors. The doors do have a bit of a ledge on the inside of the frame on all sides. I plan to drill holes in the bottom to slide the wire kennel panel in, but I am trying to figure out how to secure the other three sides of the wire panel. Clamps, connectors, etc? I considered trying to find 6 gauge interior dimension metal sleeves to slide on the wire, then drill holes all around, get the bottom axis in, then extend the sleeves on all the other sides into their respective holes. Thoughts?
I found 0.18 ID metal sleeve with an OD of 1/4". Could I use 6 gauge wire (0.162" diameter), wrap teflon tape around the wire ends, slide the 0.18 ID sleeve on, drill 1/4" holes all around, then place the wire panel inside, and the knock the sleeves down into the holes?
