Any ever had issues with their gas dryer having a leak.

Woke up the other day to strong natural gas smell in my laundry room. I shut off the gas valve and opened up windows and the smell went away.

Opened the valve back up and tested the hose connections with soapy water and saw nothing as far as bubbles being formed. So my attention has turned to the gas dryer possibly being the source of the leak.
The dryer has been running for about 2 years with no issues. My step dad and I installed the lines running to the dryer 2 years ago. The dryer was picked up from the Sears scratch and dent store two years ago but we havent had any issue with it. I have a repair man coming out later today to take a look at the dryer. Its a whilpool.

No but I would call the gas company to come find the leak.

Call a PLUMBER, not the gas company.

The gas company will yank your meter and you will have no gas service at all until you've had a plumber come out, fix it, and certified a gas test.

Good point. It's been almost 15 years since we were on natural gas.

i didn't think the leak was from the pipe and felt that it was from the dryer. So I called an appliance repair man.

Update. Dryer had a small leak from the gas valve. Turns out it wasn't shutting all the way. Needs a new valve.
