I was weed eating today and ended up slicing this conduit open. The wiring is for my irrigation system. Anyone have any suggestions on how to replace or seal it up? I don't really want to have to dig and I'm not sure duct tape would do the trick.
Typically the pipe ends just below ground. Its only there to keep people from weed eating the wires. Wrap it in some flashing so something weed eater proof.
Cut a piece of pvc a size larger than the existing pvc the length you need that makes it just people ground. Cut the new piece long ways and you can slip it over the existing piece. Problem solved with minimal digging and not cutting wires.
As mentioned, this conduit is mainly for protection against a weed eater and ends just below grade. The pvc sure does a crummy job protecting the wire.
