I'm looking to start fertilizing my lawn this weekend for the fall.

My backyard has a mix of St Augustine and Bermuda and mostly open.
My front yard is mostly St. Augustine and mostly shaded.

What product should I go pick up at Home Depot or Lowes?
I'm assuming I should mow before I spread it?
Water afterwards?

Go to a local nursery or garden center and get something like lady bug

Avoid the weed and feed type stuff

If you wait another month you could use a winterizer (more potassium in the fertilizer mix for root growth).

Dude. I bought 43lbs of sta-green at home depot yesterday for 35 bucks. Winterizing and non weed n feed. Covers 15,000 square feet. I don't know why all of the 'Winterizing' formulas around here have so GD much nitrogen in them, but they do....so I just went with it.
