This is something I haven't really seen before, but how do you "fix" a hard turning faucet. Some days my kitchen faucet will swivel left/right easily; other days it seems like it is grinding or being held back by something.



Here is the shot of the faucet. It is builder grade, but I didn't know if there was something I could oil/grease/lubricate to make it smoother. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

Hard water crap? My shower head gets like that.

hard water build up on the inside. Disassemble, scrape/clean it all off and reassemble.

60 bucks and you can surprise your wife with a new faucet and accomplish two things at once.

Would I have to remove the whole thing from the counter, or could I pop off the blue/red cover, unscrew the handle and then take apart that way?

Just wondering if this is a 10 minute activity to do after dinner or a 1/2 "pull out everything underneath and rip apart the counter" job.

go with the easiest path first...it might not take much at all. Combination of some disassembly, a small wire brush, possibly something to spray on it to dissolve it and it should work. You don't need to lubricate you need to remove the blockages.

I had same problem with the bathroom cold water handle (separate from faucet) and I took the whole thing out, disassembled, etc. Yours would be more work since it is all one mechanism...
