Just picked up a new Little Giant Ladder. Saw a sale at Home Depot on a discount site. Online only I think, but shipping was free.

They are about half price on sale and add discount code HDSPRINGBF for another $10 off.

Thought I would share in case anyone is in need.

Are you sure it wasn't a Werner? Those are on steep discount right now but I can't see any discounts on the Little Giant version.

There was a $350 or so little giant earlier that I saw on there for $189. Not sure if it is still there or not.

I found it on SLickdeals and ordered one. Looked like there was as discount on Werner too once I got to HD website.

Werners are good too, I currently use one for my inspections that is 10 years old, gets used everyday and has held up great. I am replacing it because after all my abuse, some of the step rivets are slightly loose and because I figure better safe than sorry after 10 years.

Almost got one a few weeks ago (kind of emergency need), but ended up not having to. Would have been paying about $100-120 more for a much lower duty rated one after delivery charges. Was able to get a 1A duty rated one with free shipping today for way less.

Great deal.

Also considering pulling the switch on one of the Makita combo deals. Normally their 18V drill/impact driver combo is $299. Today it is $299, but you can get one with a free circular saw, free battery, free multi-tool, free sander, free radio or free hammer drill.

I need help from the ladder gurus. I have a new one story house with 10ft or higher ceilings inside. I am a female and on the short side (5' 4").

I have a step stool, but I cannot reach the curtain rods, ceiling fans, ect inside due to the ceiling height.

What kind of ladder would you suggest I purchase?

I would think for most things a good step ladder would be fine (http://www.homedepot.com/b/Building-Materials-Ladders-Step-Ladders/N-5yc1vZaq3d).

We've had one of those and it's been fine for almost everything we've needed.

Only time's we've needed a telescoping ladder is to get to smoke detectors in the vaulted ceiling of our entry hallway (probably 15+ feet) and I'll need one soon to get up on the roof and mount an antenna.

How tall of a step ladder would you suggest? (The link just takes me to a wide assortment). Would a 6ft ladder be tall enough for most things?

Yep.

I went with the 22ft extension because I need to caulk between pieces of siding on one of our houses soon and because now that we have higher ceilings at home I need to be able to get up there. The 4ft A frame wasn't cutting it anymore.

You won't want to be too high up on the ladder and you won't want to buy a ladder and still be dealing with everything at a reach.

Given that, if you're 5'4'', I would think a 6 foot step ladder would probably be good for things around 9-10 feet up (would put you on the level of those things without having to go too high up on the ladder).

An 8 foot ladder would probably put you on the level of things around 11-12 feet.

You can get to higher things, but you'll either have to go up a bit higher on the ladder or you'll have to reach for them.

I think ours is 6 feet tall, and other than those really high items I mentioned before, I never have had an issue, but I do have to go up pretty high (the last rung made to support a person) and at 6'2'' I have a bit more reach than you'll have.

I'd probably get an 8 foot - probably overkill for most stuff, but it will keep things more on your level without you having to get way up on it.

Just my thinking out loud. I definitely don't use mine all that often, so others that do can probably give much better advice.
