I can never remember best time to do it in the spring. Too early now or not? I have St. Augustine and I'm in Austin. Thanks.

If you have trees you need to stay away from weed n feeds. They're detrimental to trees.

Also, the best combatant to weeds is a healthy lawn with a good mowing schedule.

I have st. Augustine and I use a 15-5-10 around now and again in may and july. I use a pre emergent in late feb to early march and then again on late October.

I used a crab grass and weed preventive about 3 weeks ago. Should I use fertilizer on top of this already? FWIW my city is about as far north as D/FW.

If you used just a preventer/preemie rent then now would be a great time to feed your lawn with a quick release 15-5-10

Probably to late for a pre emergent. Just use a good sorting time fertilizer and get on a good watering and mowing schedule to control the weeds. Most of what comes up now are spring weeds and will die when it gets warmer

Sounds great, I'll get some today. Our St Augustine is still asleep for the most part, but won't be much longer because the trees are starting to come out.
