At my last job, we bottle-fed deer fawns. The first month I was there we hand washed the bottles. I went to Lowes and bought the cheapest dishwasher that they had(less than $200). It worked great!! Since I didn't have a dishwasher in my house, I used it for my dishes also. Always got the dishes clean and dry. I will admit that it only lasted 5 years, but our well water was to salty to drink. That plus the fact that we ran it an average of 4-5 times a day might have caused its early demise. I just moved to my wife's great-grandmothers house and the dishwasher was the same one that was put in the house when it was built so I replaced it with the same one that I bought for the fawn bottles and I have had 0 problems so far. It is a Frigidaire and has a dial for controls. I added a layer of insulation around it as it did not come with any and it is just as quiet as any dishwasher that I have heard. From what I understand, most of the problems with dishwashers are caused by the buttons going out on the front of the dishwasher.
tl/dr
Most of what you pay for in a dishwasher is for name and features that are going to go out in 2 years anyway.
