Well, I just got it in on new years eve, so I guess I finished it last year... The wife had her doubts (so did I)

here is the link to the other thread detailing construction

The lights look slick, but are hard to photograph in lower ambient light conditions which really show off how good they look:

You can see the old aquarium stand I made which we were using as a temporary TV Stand on the left, I made the new center out of the same style to match, which they also match the two end tables (not shown) I made for the room.

I made the top drawer a false front, so you have to open the middle (top panel) in order to open the second drawer.

I hand sharpened my Bailey #4 and tapered the legs of the rocking horses I made for my kids. Thanks for making that look inadequate, agrams!

Kidding. Stunning work. Very nice. Really appreciate this kind of custom real woodworking!!

your pictures would look better if you turned off your flash.

Schmen, I tried with no flash, but to get enough light the shutter speed was so slow that without a stand to steady the camera on the pictures got blurry. I should have gotten the wife to take the pictures, she is the photography guru.

agrams, awesome project. I am impressed. What would you estimate your total time spent on the project?

Hmm. It took about 3 months to complete at about 15-20hrs a week, though a few weekends were lost to thanksgiving, hunting and the Christmas holidays. So maybe 150 +/- 20hrs.

If I did it again I am sure I could do it in about half the time. I got hung up a few times figuring out details and what order of operations I wanted to build and finish items. Some challenges were the shallow deep shelves that I would not have been able to spray finish once they were assembled, so I had to pre-spray/finish some items before assembly.

You could give me an unlimited budget and the rest of my life and I couldn't even come close to something like this...wow!

I also like the pillows covering the bedroom windows!

Thanks maestro. We just moved in in may, so blinds/shudders for that window are next on the list, along with some big full extension drawers for in the kitchen cabinets. I had finally caught up with furniture on the old house, then we moved and now I have a big list of new projects.

What happens when you decide to get a bigger TV?
agrams

The spot for the tv is sized to allow up to a 55"tv, the current is 50". I originally had it able to hold a 60", but the unit was just too big against the doorway on the left side at that width. I narrowed the side units by 2 inches and the middle by 3 to step down he overall width, if I just narrowed the side units and kept the middle big the proportions would have been out of whack.

The lights are RBG LED with adhesive. Do a search on amazon and there will be a long list of them.

But the TV goes over the fireplace where the mirror is.

So what happens when you get a bigger TV?

Tv over the fireplace would be way too high. The entertainment center can hold up to a 55" tv. A tv any bigger wouldn't be suited well for the living ro we have, you would be sitting way to close for a tv that large.

I like everything minus the lights. When do you use the lighting?
agrams
How long do you want to ignore this user?

we pretty much use the lights as the main source of lighting when we watch TV. They have dimmer controls so you can make them more subtle. They are not distracting at all from the TV when you are watching it. we typically put them on a blue so the color is soft, and the TV still stands out as the primary focal point.

Not a fan of TVs over the fireplace either. The entertainment center looks great. Well done!
