The previous owners decided gold would be a nice look in their master bathroom. We hate it and have replaced the faucets and other accessories. The only thing left is the gold shower frame. Is it possible to salvage the glass and just get a new frame? If not, what is the cost of doing a frameless shower? It's a typical 3x3 shower pan (two tile walls, another tile wall half way one side, and the shower door). In total it would be about 1 1/2 glass walls...if that makes any sense. Can I buy a kit and do it myself? If not, any suggestion for contractors? I live in Frisco/Plano area.

I'm not sure if you can just replace the trim or not but I recently replaced my shower surround with what sounds like the same setup as you. I did brushed nickel trim and it cost $953. I priced the frameless and it was around $1500 and higher depending on the thickness of the glass.

Glass shower doors are pricey. I would just replace the whole thing if you can swing it.

We replaced just our shower trim and switched out the gold for an antique bronze (brown) look.

the framed replacement cost us like $750, and the frameless was quoted for like $1500. They did not save any of the glass.

We used glass and mirror specialists based out of Double Oak (Flower Mound area).
