They didn't remove the VOCs (a category of compound that includes almost any compound with carbon in it) because they cause cancer. They did it to market the paint and (in California) to reduce the potential emissions that are precursors to ozone, commonly referred to as smog.

I hired professionals to paint my house. They used California Paints for the interior paint and it looks great. It's been two years and everything still looks like new.

The amount of vocs you're going to get from a house full of paint is negligible to your health, now if you worked in the painting industry and painted 5 days a week for 40 years, ya you might see some problems but not with the weekender painting jobs.

I've been pretty faithful to SW for years but they arent near me now. Ive been using Behr and its been good to my walls. Any thing to get rid of a bland house. 1 coat of bright yellow on the walls and 1 coat of white on the ceilings. I do have a few spots to touch up.
If anyone wants to paint the rest ceilings Im willing to barter!

Sherwin Williams if you catch one of their 30-40% off sales (usually every few months).

Behr is probably the best of the big-box store paint brands.
