Was ready to move forward with a Tuff Shed in the backyard, but got shut down by the HOA because of size. Can anyone recommend other shed manufacturers to take a look at? Size limitations are 10'X 10' max and max 8' at the roof peak. Thanks and Gig'em!

Went with this one at Home Depot; will run you about $600. Total PIA to assemble. Definitely use a rubber mallet and loads of liquid dish soap on the joints to ease things along. Read the reviews. The last panel, a roof panel, is a total b*tch to assemble. My "helper" (aka "wife" threw up her hands and went inside, leaving me cussing on a step-ladder.

Had it in place for three years in a north Texas back yard. Held up amazingly well in the heat and freezing cold; never leaked. Plenty of room inside. Most expensive part was outfitting the walls with the specialized hangers sold at Home Depot. The walls are thin but rigid, and they require special hangers to hold yard tools, trimmers, etc. Them hangers ain't cheap.

Would buy this again in a heartbeat, but would bribe a buddy with beer to help me assemble it this time. Put ours on a bed of levelled coarse gravel. Here's a description, below, but again...ignore the BS about it being easy to put together. It ain't.

They had a nice one at Sam's club that wasn't too much, I am not sure of the size though.

It was similar to this [url] http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=147388&navAction=push[/url

But cheaper from what I remember. This was in The Woodlands Texas.

We had our 10x10 shed built about 5 years ago by http://www.backyardbuildings.com. They build sheds for Lowes, but we got a better deal on a better building going directly through the company. I think they are a step up from Rubbermade or Tuff, but I think we got a great building, even if it was a little pricey having someone else build it for us.

Ours is similar to these, but was 10x10 - I don't see our exact one on the website anymore.

Edit to add: by the way, ours was 10x10x8, which should meet your HOA guidelines. It has a good roof, good floor, and is tight and dry.

Ark, I have a Tuff Shed, gamble style with hardiplank siding and shingled roof 8X12 and 8' peak. I can't see that the other brand has offers anything that I would consider a step-up.

Money, the Tuff sheds I looked at didn't seem to be put together well. It probably comes down to who knocked it together or the models that were on display that day.

I wasn't trying to bash a particular brand, but the typical sheds (like Tuff, Rubbermade, etc) that I see lining the parking lot at Home Depot or Lowes are hit and miss - some look pretty good, others, not so much. I guess I remembered the Tuff shed I saw falling the latter category, but as you experienced, I'm sure they have some quality designs as well.
