Any recs in the DFW area? What's the cost and did you install yourself?

I'd prefer one that doesn't soak me and isn't loud.

This would be for a back patio, approx 420 sqft.

i got the Home Depot one and installed it on my porch one summer. After getting soaking wet a couple times we tore it out.

Thanks that's exactly the type of info I am looking for.

From what I've ready the more humid the climate the higher pressure pump you need for a finer mist (thus more $).

Dallas, while certainly not CS, Houston, or NOLA, can get a fair amount of humidity.

I picked one up at Costco this weekend. Was pretty easy to install and seemed to work just fine. It was $150 for a 30 foot run.

I had a large system to cool an open-air barn. It works better to have the mist farther away from the sitting area and have the breeze carry it accross the area. It cools the air temp and is less of a wet/sticky feel.

We had a 20x40 barn and ran misters down the longside (south side) and it worked great.

1" PVC pipe and misting nozzles do the trick. I would suggest cleaning the nozzles with CLR or other product frequently.

Sam's has one that I installed last year and it works great.
