ORLANDO - Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos and Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio were named Golfweek Preseason All-Americans, the outlet announced Tuesday.
Borovilos and Fernandez Garcia-Poggio added another pair of All-America honors to their preseason accolades with the duo claiming first and second team recognition from Golfweek, respectively. Earlier this week, the Aggies found themselves on the same respective All-America squads from Golf Channel and were also tabbed to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List.
Borovilos is ranked No. 18 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and was a 2026 WGCA First Team All-American. The junior from Canada posted a 71.06 stroke average, which was the second best in program history, and had two individual wins last season.
Fernandez Garcia-Poggio finds her way onto the preseason watch list for the third time in her career. She has a WAGR ranking of No. 29 and is a two-time All-American. The Spaniard has a 7-2-1 overall collegiate match play record, including a 5-0 record at the SEC Championship.
As a team, Texas A&M is ranked #5 on the Golfweek preseason poll.
Texas A&M begins the season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate Sept. 7-9 in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Aggies won the event last year and look to defend the title to usher in the 2026-27 campaign.
