Never been to this part of the country, for golf or otherwise. Anyone got any must-dos or things to see?

Playing Southern Pines, Mid Pines, Pine Needles, and Tobacco Road.

Any and all rec's welcome!

play tobacco road twice. First off in the morning, eat something, replay rate is cheap comparatively.

I shot 96-80

Played the exact same set 2 years ago…southern pines and Tobacco Road were my favorites. I would try to get a round at the cradle worked in. I think Tobacco Road might have something similar called the matchbox now too.

Tobacco Road is the most fun I've ever had on a gimmicky course. It felt like every non par 3 tee shot was blind on the front 9.

tobacco road is arguably my favorite course ever. they also just opened their par 3 course definitely check that out. cradle is a must. we had a blast drinking on train car next to it. cheering balls that hit #1 green and booing those who missed. all players got a kick out of it.

also ate at a cool English pub in downtown Pinehurst. great vibe
Im looking for Ray Finkle.... and a clean pair of shorts. Im just a very big Finkle fan. This is my Graceland, sir.

Fun courses
Better than most of Pinehurst except 2, 4, and 10

Agree with you but I'm also a fan of #8. Seems it's not one of your favorites?

Sounds kind of like the Fishing Center in Port O' Connor back in the day (90's/ early 2000s) with people trying to launch and load boats. Difference being the launchers and loaders melted under pressure from the crowd, usually, and the Constructive Criticism increased. But when completed, applause erupted.
"Green" is the new RED.

If you have time to go out an hour further, Tot Hill Farm. I did Tot Hill, Tobacco, Southern Pines last summer and it was right up there with Tobacco for me.

Leave a note hidden in the woods. Any course, any hole. I promise you I will find it.

The matchbox is all turf. I would do the cradle instead it is quite enjoyable
