Bhatia's play since March has been poor with missed cuts at Masters, Memorial, PGA and Open Championship. That is not someone to pick as one of your Top 12 golfers. Smalley has never won a PGA event and outside of his T2 at the PGA his performance in the majors was poor with a missed cut at the US Open and T53 at the Open Championship. As for Gerard, he made a lot of cuts this season but his performance in the majors was lackluster outside of the Open Championship. His only PGA win came last year in the Barracuda event which didn't have the top golfers in the world as they were at the Open Championship that same week.

JTs pick is bad and I'm a fan of his. His play has not been great for awhile. But he maybe viewed as a glue guy to keep the team together versus being a player counted on to win much.

But to me, we really need a worldwide golf event like all other sports. Golf is now a very global sport and it doesn't make sense to have exclusive events like USA vs Europe or USA vs non Europe. It should be all countries vs each other.

Yes on JT. Here is JT's results this season. 16/17 cuts made coming back from offseason back surgery and limited play this year. Didn't start his season until the API which was his only missed cut. His performance in the majors and other top events was better than most of the guys selected and considered for the President's Cup. He made the cut in all majors and Players with 2 top 8 finishes and T17 at the US Open.

None of which changes the guys listed had a better year. He was almost 50th in FedEx Cup points for a reason.

It isn't about Fed Ex cup standings, it is all about President's Cup criteria and point standings. JT played in about 30% less tournaments this season (offseason back surgery) as compared to most everyone else thus why he was behind in the Fed Ex cup standings but still managed to finish 43rd and 11th in the President's Cup rankings.
