[Note at the end of this press release it says that the remaining four Aggie golfers will be playing in a Huntsville, Texas tournament on Feb 16-17. I will create a separate thread for that tournament to keep them separate.]

No. 6 Women's Golf Heads to Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. The No. 6 Texas A&M women's golf team continues its spring slate on the road as it heads to the Moon Golf Invitational for 54 holes of action over three days Feb. 15-17.

Louisville and the Suntree Country Club serves host the tournament. The course plays at par-72 and 6,443 yards.

The Aggies are coming off a third-place finish in the spring opener at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge where they finished 9-over par as a group. Brynn Kort headlined the squad, finishing 1-under 212 to tie for sixth individually.

The Maroon & White have impressed throughout the 2025-26 season, recording podium finishes at all six tournaments and securing four tournament titles. A fifth victory would tie the program record set during the 2022-23 season.

Individually the group has had a golfer finish in the top-six at every tournament they've participated in, while adding an individual crown at Carmel Cup courtesy of Cayetana Fernandez Garca-Poggio.

The Lineup

Head coach Gerrod Chadwell is running it back at the Moon Golf Invitational with the same lineup from the Therese Hession Regional Challenge which includes Kort, Vanessa Borovilos, Louise Reau, Sky Sudberry and Natalie Yen.

The Format

Texas A&M players tee off Sunday from No. 10 starting at 7:50 a.m. The field is comprised of 17 teams, five of which being ranked in the top 10.

Competing Back Home

The Aggies have four players teeing off at the Texas Golf Throwdown in Huntsville, Texas. The tournament takes place Feb. 16-17 at the Woodlands Country Club. Fernndez Garca-Poggio, Mia Nixon, Kynadie Adams and Avery Zweig will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Tee times and live stats for the event can be found at:

Interesting so far. Ags off to a great start and had the lead at 7 under but not too much longer they were at about 1 under and in about 5th place. I was following the softball game, also in Florida, and they said the wind was really picking up because a storm is coming in tonight. Soooo, I imagine the wind was causing problems. The scores for all teams quickly changed because of it.

But now the Ags are back in the lead at 1 under, the only team under par. Individually, Vanessa is in 2nd at 3 under after nine holes. She had an eagle on the par 5 10th.

Gosh, after the first few holes we were at -7, in first place, but then dropped to -1 and about fifth place BUT ended the day back in first place with a -3. Auburn, the second place team, is at +4, seven strokes back.

Individual Aggie leaders are Sky and Vanessa tied for second at -2, one stroke off the lead, and Louise, tied for 9th with an even par.

I will post the press release after it comes out.

Auburn was -6 today. Only AU and USCe finished under par for the day. Ags were E. Vanessa was -7 and took home the individual title by 4 strokes. Thank goodness for her or we would have been way down on the leaderboard as a team. Elite college programs have to have 2 players that can consistently go low.
