We knew they had to move it somewhere given how close it is to the fires but i was hoping they would have been able to find a host course that we haven't seen before (or not very often) since it's a rare one-off situation.

Torrey obviously makes a ton of sense and they can keep a lot of the infrastructure from this week in place but it's sorta lame at the same time.

Very lame. Now we're doublely subjected to Torrey. I'd like to think they would change the conditions significantly like cutting the rough in a different way or very different green speeds and pin locations but I'm not hopeful.

I thought I read this morning it was going to the North Course.

North > South imo

South>North imo

I find this take interesting. I'd rather play Torrey than Pebble. A fraction of the cost, similar views, and you don't have to pretend to be uppity.

I also enjoy breakfast at the grill and dinner and drinks at La Jolly over Carmel for the same reasons.

I like op was hoping we'd get something unique, but get why it's somewhere basically already set up.

His ridiculous comment was it's the most overated course. Which directly corelates to my response. It had nothing to do with the OP.

I think a ton of people in the golf world would agree it is the most overrated course on tour.

Because saying Torrey has the same views as Pebble Beach isn't ridiculous.

Not sure why it's overrated. One of the good aspects is that it tends to have more teeth than a lot of stops that are birdiefests where it takes -17 to -20 to win. Some years are easier than others depending on conditions, but outside of The Memorial, there aren't regular stops that -8 wins. Quite a few single digit under par winners here over the past 10 years

Yeah it's generally considered a very bland course. It's "teeth" just because of length and long rough. It's largely a forgettable course that happens to be on the water.

For a course they've been playing every year on tour for 30 years… how many specific holes can you envision? 3 or 4 maybe?

I can envision all of the holes. I still agree with you though.
