Somehow a shard of glass appeared in my garage. I had just got back from a 4-day hunting weekend in the hill country and went to craft a cold adult beverage before unloading all my stuff and a bed full of firewood.
I walked into the house and felt something stuck to the bottom of my right foot. I went to sweep it off with my left foot and an impressive shard of glass fashioned roughly into the shape of a stone age projectile point impaled the dead center of the front of my big toe.
I removed the glass carefully to avoid breaking anything off and it went in a good 3/8". Removing it hurt more than the stabbing.
Anyway, it didn't look bad enough to need a stitch, which was debatable according to the Rib, but I got some wound closure strips, Band-Aids, and lidocaine antiseptic on it and then sat down to enjoy my now slightly watered down adult beverage.
That happened Monday and it still hurts pretty good. We have a tee time Saturday morning at Highmeadow so I'm going to see how it goes. Weight transfer to the front foot will be limited, maybe I'll play the ladies tees with my SIL.
Any stories of playing through weird non-golf injuries?
