Has anyone played/ stayed at the Hideout before?? Planning our annual Ryder cup style event for 2025 and narrowing in on this place.

Any feed back would be appreciated. How's the course? How is the lodging? Food? Other activities available ? Etc.

How many guys?

Not much of a resort, so don't let the name fool you. There's a restaurant, bar and pool, but that's where it ends. The cabins are small but on property, worth staying a night but if I'm staying several nights, I'd look at AirBnB, as you'll want to go into town to eat, drink, socialize.

As for the course, it's solid. It's not long, greens are small and there's quite a few bunkers. I wouldn't call it target golf but don't be afraid to take iron off of several tees.

For Ryder cup, I'd look at mixing up which tees you play either day to day, or even mix and match. Overall, fun track…happy to answer any specific questions about the area or golf course.

Yes, it's worth it! Great layout and the greens roll true! Nice scenery. I was able to play it before my son's conference championship golf tournament for college. It was rolling fast. I may have some pictures in my picture roll. I will check for you.

Thank you both for the feedback! We will have 32 guys this year. This will be the 22nd year in a row this thing has been done. We have stayed places to the likes of Pine Dunes, Links at Lands End and White bluff so we are familiar with the smaller cabins and creative lodging situations.

We are a pretty simple group, if the course is nice but not to difficult, and there's a place to hangout and watch some football and playoff baseball (we are going first weekend of October) then we are happy!

A good majority of our group is older guys , like 60+ so the not too long, target golf is right up their alley!

Any pictures you have would be welcomed.

I'm originally from the area. Have played the course a few times but not in the last couple years. It isn't what I'd call target golf. You will hit driver on the majority of par 4/5. Can only think of one hole where you'd be required to layup (unless you're trying to carry the creek and hit the green in one…you'll see).

I like the layout and the scenery. For some reason the two Brownwood golf courses both have bentgrass greens, despite the upkeep. They tend to roll true and fast. Highly recommend you go during the spring when all the landscape is green if at all possible.

Bar and restaurant should be very adequate for your needs. Can't speak to the lodging. Hope you all have fun and do report back.
