Yep, Adela will earn her first check as a pro - good for her! And has a great chance to get an LPGA card.

The team will surely miss her next Spring but she finished tied for first in the qualifying tournament before this one and she could not pass up the opportunity to play in this tournament since she is playing so well. Unfortunately, she had to turn pro to enter this tournament.

The coaches have signed four great players and even though they cannot help next Spring the future looks very bright!

I would have liked to see her stay and graduate but ...

I believe it is status on their version of the Korn Ferry (Epson Tour).

Top 25 and ties will earn 2025 LPGA Tour status in Category 14.
All Players finishing a minimum of four (4) rounds will earn 2025 Epson Tour status in Category C.

"Category 14 is a status on the LPGA's priority list that players earn by finishing in the top 25 at the LPGA Q-Series. The LPGA Q-Series is a five-day, 90-hole tournament that determines LPGA status for the following season. Players who finish at least 72 holes earn full Epson Tour status. The LPGA's priority list determines a player's standing for the season. Players in Category 14 have a better standing than those in Category 15, who finish outside the top 20 at Q-Series."

Epson Tour Category C:

"All Players finishing a minimum of 72 holes at the previous year's LPGA Q-Series. Players will be ranked based on the order of their finish at Q-Series. Ties will be broken in the following order: lowest final round of the Q-Series; lowest 5th round; etc. until the tie is broken. If Players are still tied, ties will be broken by a match of score cards beginning with the 18th hole of the final round and working backwards."

C is only behind the top 70 finalists from the previous year tour and winners from the previous year that did not get their LPGA card (top 10). So it should put Blanca about #88 on the Epson Tour priority list. I'd imagine that means just about every tournament as there is usually 120-144 per tournament. But it is moot as she already had full status from October. This was a bonus opportunity to try and grab her LPGA card.

NV.

Edited:
This week's LGPA tournament is the last event for 2024.

Looks like 2025 starts in January. So a nice little break to enjoy the holidays and maintain her game before hitting the grind as a professional.
