That's awesome,

Once you learn to bogey instead of double, you'll be getting down to low 80's and sneak into 70's.

This has been an area of greatest satisfaction for me the last few years. My swing and contact hasn't changed much, I'm just thinking about shots more than I ever used to. Take that extra club so that you carry the hazard. Maybe you add 1 stroke because you're long, but not 2. Lay up on most par 5's and work on the chips and pitches. Improve your putting instead of whacking balls on the range. It's boring, but your card won't have the big numbers, and you're not robbing yourself of as many birdie chances as you'd think.

When I was growing up, it was put to me this way:

Eliminate 7s to shoot in the 80s.
Eliminate 6s to shoot in the 70s.
Eliminate 5s to shoot in the 60s.

In my experience, it does work about like that.
