I only recently started playing again after not playing since I was at A&M. I still have the clubs that were given to me when I started by my uncle nearly 20 years ago which was a mixed set of woods and an iron set.
The driver I have is old, to the point where I cannot find any information about it online (in terms of brand or comparison)
I also struggle with hitting it accurately.
Just for kicks last week while we were at the range last week, I swung my wife's driver (an old Cobra AMP Cell-S) just goofing off and of course every ball I hit is right down the middle. Never hit a driver that consistently. I guess the main reason being the size of the club head and it being more forgiving? Granted it felt like the shaft was gonna break every time I swung it because of how much flex there was in the shaft. Definitely made me think about getting the men's version of that driver as I continue to learn. Would there be all the much of difference (outside of having a stiffer shaft) between the men's and women's club head?
I've been waiting to get fitted for clubs until I feel comfortable with where I'm at in the learning process, but it would cost less than $100 to get the men's version.
