Nuklr Golf is a fake news Twitter account. Just takes whatever Twitter rumor and posts it as fact. They have since added the report does not have credible sources.

Seen a couple of Euro outlets reporting it but nothing on our side. Anything that gets worked out will need DOJ approval most likely so this could still be awhile.

Just to add- listened to SGS pod this morning and they spent about 1 minute on this so doubtful anything has happened that's definitive.

The purposefully boring deep dive on Nico Eschevarria stats was cracking me up. All that just to be spiteful to the people who complained about them talking too much non-golf.

Was thinking about this now that Trump has been elected; I could see him having a 5 min side conversation with MBS (in the course of other diplomatic issues) saying he would like to get this solved for the good of the game. That would probably be enough to propel things forward. Maybe have all parties out to Mar-A-Lago for a "friendly" round.

it should be a much friendlier DOJ for this deal too. I expect this will be done sometime early next year now.

I don't think it happens at all. Too many large, fundamental differences.

MBS will just drop another $2 billion into Kushner's investment fund and have Trump lean on Monahan.

At least they run legitimate businesses that create value and revenue instead of just being grifters.

I don't know how these two groups ever come together again. Maybe the Saudis get tired of pouring money into a hole and give up. Maybe the Tour keeps bleeding sponsors and gives up. I hope there are enough smart people on each side that they can figure it out.

I wasn't talking about either group. I might be wrong but I think a large number of people have moved on from watching and following professional golf since the split and it will be hard to get them back.

Anecdotal for sure, but I'm in that camp. I used to be a weekly viewer, had a subscription to PGA Live or whatever their streaming service was, but now pretty much only watch the Masters and maybe a bit of the British and US Open. I'll check in on leaderboards every now and then.

Yeah, fractured golf sucks. I didn't watch nearly as much PGA this year and basically no LIV. Too many no name tournaments and LIV is exhibition golf. Hopefully they can work something out, but I don't see anything meaningfully changing
