It was the sixth surgery on his lower back in the past 10 years.

The procedure was described as a microdecompression surgery of the lumbar spine for nerve impingement in the lower back. That also is referred to as a microdiscectomy, and the recovery time can be anywhere from eight to 12 weeks.

He's earned the right to play in whatever tournaments he wants to play in, but if I were in his shoes, I'd mainly be focused on making sure I can play golf with my kid and maybe my grandkids one day. Back conditions are degenerative. Why speed up that degeneration trying to continue to play at a professional level. It was a helluva ride but at this point a lifetime of pain and not being able to enjoy the spoils of everything he won really seems at risk.

Tiger being discounted and rehabbing his game usually comes back strong.
Should we mark him down for one more major championship, or is this finally the end of the road for him??
We will see. In 2026 he becomes eligible for the Senior Circuit.
