I play mizuno pros (225). Couldn't recommend those more highly but the real answer is go get fitted and play whatever fits you.

I'm a bit of a golf club fanatic…

Based on your skill level, I own and recommend the following:

Under 5 handicap:
Hogan PTXPros / Icons
Titleist T150s

5-10 Handicap
Titleist T200
TaylorMade P790s

Anything over that:
Titleist T350s (Suh-weet !!)
Takomo 101Ts

Lessons, Lessons, Lessons…

Always the Indian… Rarely the Arrow…

I bought a demo 7iron from New Level recently, the new 480DB club. It looks really nice in person and feels great as well. They are having a 20% off sale this weekend. Might have to get the whole set.

What is everyone's opinions of Pings? I've never used anything different and still using my G30's but they are almost 10 years old now.

I'm a high handicapper, but I hit my friend's P790s better than I hit my pings.

I think my eye hates offset

Same here Gaspasser. "High" handicapper here.

When I came back to golf after a long break, I knew my swing had changed and handicap had risen. I got my stamina back and went for a fitting. As an old Callaway guy, I wanted the Apex DCBs sooo bad, and thought the Mizuno HM were pretty sweet, and even swung the TM Stealth. Ended up hitting the Titleist T200s better than any others (and hit many) and it was not that close. When the fitter said the Titleist was next up, I was expecting the T350, but he handed me the T200 and it just "fit". I had taken the Titleist "iron selector" quiz and it kept pointing me to the T200s. I thought NFW was I going to be able to hit that club, but here I am. Very surprised.

That is why you go.

Couldn't resist the deal and bought 5-PW to go with my 7iron last night. I'll post some pics when they arrive. Was $596 with free shipping.

I am a 12 handicap…got fitted about 6 months ago. Ended up going with the Srixon ZX5's with Modus stiff shafts. Have been very happy with them

Got fitted the other day and ordered some i530s. The contact felt incredible but they haven't showed up yet to take to the course.

doing yourself a disservice if you don't try out the srixon ZX7s against whatever else you are considering. Big Mizuno guy here that was convinced I was buying the new Mizuno pros, but was convinced by the fitter to try out the ZX7s and absolutely loved them... waaaay more than the mizunos. If ZX7 not your thing, the ZX5 are also solid clubs for more distance and forgiveness, but the ZX7s are fantastic and seem to get no love because they don't spend the marketing dollars like the major brands.

I was skeptical of the value of fitting for high handicappers like myself until I did it. Previously, I bought clubs off the rack with standard specs based on price and what I thought should work. That was very hit and miss; lucked out with a driver that I liked hitting, but not hybrids or irons. All that accomplished was years of frustration as a club tinkerer. Finally decided to get fit for irons this spring. I needed +2 in the lie and +1/2 length, and suddenly I'm making better contact than I ever have before. I'm a believer in fitting now. Sometimes the indian needs some help. Not all arrows are the same.

I've been using G430's with graphite shafts for the last few months and love them so far.

I'd still be using Ping Eye II Plus SW and LW if it didn't completely become illegal for USGA play in 2023. I put mine away in 2021-22 and it's taken 2 -3 years to get used to my new wedges.
